Creative Yunnan Culture Exposition to open in August
The 2017 Creative Yunnan Culture Exposition will open at the Kunming International Exhibition Center from Aug 10 to 14 this year, according to a press conference held on July 4.
The event is expected to set up seven exhibition halls displaying special products from ethnic groups in 16 cities and autonomous prefectures in Yunnan.
In addition to intangible cultural heritages and creative products, some advanced internet technologies will also be showcased at the event.
A quoting system for Pu’er tea will illustrate methods of providing climate information and data analysis for tea traders. It is the first computing system to be used in the Chinese tea industry.
Wenshan Zhuang and the Miao autonomous prefecture will set up a 200-square meter exhibition hall with four exhibition areas during the event, showing notoginseng, jewelry and embroidery works.
Notoginseng is a precious herbal medicine native to China. Known as sanqi or tianqi in Chinese, it’s traditionally used for healing wounds and can also be made into a tonic.
It is expected that 25 enterprises from the Chuxiong Yi autonomous prefecture will demonstrate their unique embroidery products, and 18 businesses from Pu’er will display intangible culture heritage works at the exposition.
