Film festival commemorates China-Nepal relations milestone

In order to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal held, for the first time, a film festival to commemorate the occasion through Nepal's national television station NTV on August 1. During the three-day festival, a number of Chinese and Nepalese films and TV programs, such as China From Above 2, China's Battle Against Disease COVID-19 and Bulbul, will be broadcast.

 

The second season of the documentary China From Above 2 shows audiences the natural scenery and modern cities of China through a combination of aerial photography, computer effects and ground shooting. The documentary China's Battle Against Disease COVID-19 is a documentary style feature showing China's anti-epidemic fight in a transparent and open manner. The Nepalese feature film Bulbul describes a romantic love story in Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, from the perspective of a female minibus driver. The film was awarded at the Nepal National Film Festival, and was selected as the representative of Nepal works for the 92nd Academy Awards.

During the festival, Hou Yanqi, the Chinese ambassador to Nepal, said China and Nepal are close neighbors with a long history of exchanges. Over the past 65 years, China-Nepal cooperation in politics, economy and trade, humanities and other fields has been developing continuously, and friendly feelings between the peoples have been continuously deepened. Bhattarai, Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Nepal, said since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, people-to-people exchanges have become increasingly close. China has a long history and diverse culture. The online film festival deepens people's understanding of each other.
